Don’t Settle for Drive Thru Christianity

Have you settled for drive-thru Christianity?

It’s true that we get what we put in.  When you invest in a high quality meal at a 5-star restaurant, you’re going to have a better experience than the drive thru at McDonalds.  But what about in our spiritual lives?  Are we settling for the quick and easy, drive thru devotion time?  Are we just reading our Bibles so we can check it off our To Do list?  Or are we sacrificing time and effort to invest in our relationship with the Lord?

Here are some tips for deepening your relationship with the Lord:

  • Start small. Don’t get overwhelmed by trying to spend two hours with God everyday.  Start with ten minutes and build up from there.
  • Pick a specific time and stick to it.
  • Create a place you want to spend time in.  Have a journal, tissues, music, and a blanket handy.
  • Start with a Bible Study on a subject you’re interested in.
