What does it mean to Live Intentionally

What Does it Mean to Live Intentionally?

What does it mean to live intentionally?

How can you go beyond the life you want to live and instead live the life GOD wants you to live?

It starts with being aware of what God is doing.

How to live intentionally

Here are four steps that you can take to start living intentionally.

1. Determine where you are right now.

Be aware of what you’re doing.

Think of this like GPS, you have to be intentional on the direction you are taking. If you are wanting to reach the dream that God has placed on your heart,  first you have to know where you are to know how to get where you’re going.

Take an inventory of how you are spending your time. See what you are actually doing every day.

Be aware of what God’s doing.

It isn’t enough to know what we are doing but we need to know what God is doing in our lives. We should be living the life that God wants us to live. Take a look at what God is doing in your life.

2. Determine where God wants you to go.

Learn how to inquire of the Lord.

The first thing we need to do if we don’t know where to go is we need to inquire from the lord where we are to go. Go to him and ask him what he wants you to do.

“I sought the Lord, and He heard me”

Psalm 34:4

Before your life began, God had ordained things for you to do.

He has plans laid out for your life. But if your priorities are not aligned with His then those things won’t happen.

Align your priorities with God’s priorities.

To be able to be used by God we have to be intentional to align our priorities with Gods priorities. We first need to determine where God wants you to go and then intentionally inquire what steps God has you to take.

3. Take your thoughts captive.

Your thoughts are what determine your feelings.

Just because we have a plan doesn’t mean we will always feel it.

You may have the plan to get up early and to make breakfast but in the morning you may feel like hitting the snooze button.

Your thoughts determine your feelings.

Take the thoughts you think and before you act on them you align your thoughts with God’s thoughts.

4. Put feet to your faith.

It’s not enough to know where God wants you to go.

You need to take action.

A reminder, that what you do doesn’t save you. Works don’t create faith, but they do follow faith.

Your thoughts determine your feelings, and your feelings then determine your actions.

When we have a relationship with God and align our thoughts with God then our works flow from that. From your salvation comes works.

Be aware of what you are doing and be aware of what God is doing in your life this week.

We’ll talk more about how to create a routine that fits your priorities next week!
