Make Healthy Convenient!

We’re wired to pick the convenient choice.

We want to have an easy life and make choices that are easy.


But there is a cost for convenience.  I remember a time when I was a teenager and we ran out of milk.  My mom told me to drive to the grocery store and buy some and I said “Why don’t I just run to the convenience store? It’s closer.” And she said that convenience store always charged more.


The Cost of Convenience

There’s always a cost for convenience.  And that cost is even greater when we’re talking about our health.

Unhealthy choices are all around us.  It’s super easy to grab fast food.  Not just at fast food joints, but vending machines, and grocery store aisles.  The fact is that this world is not going to change, so if we want to be healthy, we have to go on the offensive and make healthy choices more convenient that unhealthy ones.



Make Healthy Convenient

There are two ways to make healthy choices convenient.  Our goal is to make healthy options MORE convenient than unhealthy one.

First, we need to PLAN AHEAD. Proverbs says that if we ponder the path of our feet, our ways will be established.  Think about what you’re going to do that day and plan accordingly.  Do you always crave something sweet around 3pm? Then plan ahead second, BE PREPARED and have a sweet healthy snack in your purse.  Then it’s easier to have that instead of driving to the nearest fast food place.
